Structural Mechanics Now Available

Published September 16, 1999

September 16, 1999–Structural Mechanics, the newest addition to the Mathematica Applications Library, is a flexible, interactive environment that allows professional engineers, educators, and students to focus on the design and analysis of structural elements rather than on the computational details.

Using Structural Mechanics, both practicing and aspiring engineers can derive basic cross-sectional properties for simple and composite sections, perform beam analysis, investigate torsional behavior and stresses, and perform two-dimensional finite element analysis. Structural Mechanics comes complete with dozens of prebuilt, easily customized examples that lend themselves to courseware integration with minimal time and effort and an extensive interactive online help system that gets users up and running quickly.
