Operations Research 2.0 Adds Quadratic Programming and Combinatorial Heuristics

Published April 4, 2001

April 4, 2001–SoftAS GmbH has released a new version of Operations Research, a Mathematica application package that provides the user with tools for handling a broad range of topics in business optimization. With Operations Research 2.0 and Mathematica, you can now solve problems in quadratic programming and combinatorial heuristics, as well as in linear optimization, shortest path tasks, and combinatorial optimization.

Operations Research 2.0 is actually a collection of four subpackages that can be called from the master package from within Mathematica. The documentation includes example notebooks that guide the user through typical problems encountered in university courses and in daily practical work. Each problem is explained, modeled, and solved in full detail, and the complete collection covers a broad class of optimization tasks.
