Mathematica 4 Selected as Jolt Awards Finalist

Published February 17, 2000

February 17, 2000–Mathematica 4 has been selected as a finalist for Software Development magazine’s 10th Annual Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards. The Jolt Awards are Software Development magazine’s “annual tribute to the development tools that ‘jolted’ the corporate development industry during the previous year, in terms of increasing developer productivity, heralding a new development paradigm, or making development faster, easier, and more efficient.” Mathematica is one of eight finalists in the category of Languages and Development Environments.

With a circulation of more than 80,000, Software Development magazine is the leading publication covering the best people, products, and practices of corporate development. Software Development magazine keeps software engineers, technical team leads, and project managers informed of the strategies and solutions they need to deliver reliable, successful software applications.

This year, a record 361 products from six different categories were nominated by vendors, judges, and readers alike for the honor of “best software development product of 1999.” Nominations were accepted only for products that were released during the 1999 calendar year. Following a thorough evaluation process, the judges narrowed the field to a short list of only 44 finalists. Each product is now subject to a final, rigorous, firsthand evaluation by the panel of judges. Winners will be announced in March 2000 at the Software Development Conference and Exposition in San Jose, California.
